Alan Lake Factori(E) Dallas Theatre reviews
Pyrotechnics a plus - but sound quality was a bust....
I was so disappointed with the sound quality that is, unfortunately, what really matters. I absolutely love the energy and style of music this band puts out, but a few others and I left the concert well ahead of its ending. The two preceding bands "Papa Roach" and "Asking Alexandria" however, sounded just fine - so that pretty much nips the notion that I had a bad seat in the bud or that the PA system or its speakers that all the bands patch into was the cause. The pyrotechnics, as well as a shower of sparks raining down, being some pretty awesome explosions and lots of flames shooting up, was cool... as well as the visual effects involving lasers, super HD graphics, etc., were nice. When you're totally struggling to make out lyrics you've heard over and over in the past, all because the sound system is so jacked up, that's quite a pity. They really need to take a deep dive into what the heck's wrong with their sound. I'm thinking that their interest in driving the volume level to the max may have had a play in muddying up the drums, guitars, and distorting the vocals?! Just a guess.
Anyone that's ever been to the Nutter Center, who really has a taste for tunes, would likely all agree that it has to be one of the worse arenas to host a concert. That's if you're up in the bleachers where the echos and reverberation tends to hammer what could otherwise be a good concert. I was, however, on the 1st row at about the 60 yd line - which should have been a perfect location.
